I have more than 13 years of experience in the legal industry of Intellectual Property in Mexico, beginning my professional career in 2009 at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), in various areas such as the Directorate of Trademarks and the Coordination of Infringements and Crimes.

I have collaborated in prestigious Mexican law firms with a focus on consulting in various industries such as food, alcoholic beverages, pharmaceuticals and entertainment, coordinating operations in the administration and enforcement of trademark and patent portfolios at a national and international level (Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean), I also have experience in litigation of intangible assets and protection of personal data.

A different approach

Attorney at Law graduated from the Law School of National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), he has collaborated in several Federal Agencies in matters related to organized crime, public security and intelligence strategy.

Mr. Velázquez has also collaborated in different criminal courts and he focuses on litigation in criminal matters regarding IP, specializing in Mexican criminal law proceedings and amparo proceedings.

I started my career as a substantive examiner at the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property, where I had the opportunity to learn with a large volume of trademark applications.

ANALYSIS OF POTENTIAL DENOMINATIONS OF ORIGIN

I collaborated in the Departmental Coordination of Legal Resolutions of Distinctive Signs and Geographical Indications, where I had the opportunity to analyze potential Denominations of Origin, as well as analyze federal decisions of appeal issued by the Trademark Department and draft administrative review appeals.
